Nicklas Bendtner on his way to Newcastle?

Alan Pardew is being linked with a whole host of strikers at the moment, with Arsenal player Nicklas Bendtner apparently being at the top of the list. Despite being heavily linked with a £9 million move to Sporting Lisbon recently, it seemed Pardew is keen to make a move for the Dane in order to try to score a few more goals next season. The many Newcastle escorts who are big Newcastle United fans have expressed their enthusiasm for the potential signing of this Danish international.
However, Bendtner is not the only young striker being linked with the magpies; young Italian striker Frederico Macheda is also a name that keeps popping up but it is believed that Pardew wants a more experienced player front.
With the transfer deadline at the end of August drawing near, it seems as if this may be another one of those last-minute deals we see every season. The player himself has stated that he has been talking to Newcastle this summer which suggests he may be in favour of the move himself.
Newcastle and Arsenal are two clubs which have seen a lot of transfer rumour and movement of the late. Newcastle lost Andy Carroll to Liverpool last season, albeit for a huge £35 million transfer fee, whereas Arsenal are on the brink of losing team talisman Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona and Samir Nasri to Manchester city. This is after losing first choice left back Gael Clichy to Man City also.
Newcastle have also sold their first choice left back in Spaniard Jose Enrique who has just joined Liverpool. They do have a new striker however in the form of Demba Ba who has been impressive in pre-season friendlies thus far. Whatever happens on the Bendtner front, it seems the Newcastle squad will be quite different from last season.
